As some of you may know, I have just launched my new music project; JamPack!
Basically, the JamPack! project is a rebirth of my former project, n3rd, essentially this is just a name switch. Why the name change you ask? Well, it turns out that n3rd is quite a common term and is already associated with other musicians like Pharrel and N.E.R.D., a group in the states that produce beats under the name N3RDGANG and all the gamers, geeks and 1337s (leet for those of you who are unfamiliar) who use the term.
I want a unique name that sticks, and after working for about two years under the name n3rd, I just needed a change. Sure, I could have just changed my name over, which may have seemed easier to do, but trust me, the way things were organised before hand, it was a bit messy.
So about the new name…
What is JamPack!? Well, basically its a play on my own name, Benjamin Packer. Yup, Ben(JAM)in (PACK)er. I wanted something that was had some sort of musical term in it, and I wanted it to be fun, so why not a casual jam in the shed? Of course, like all good names this one appeared to me in a dream, delivered by unicorns and penguins in a field of daisies.
Stick around, I’m hoping to get this all working as a more integrated site with twitter, facebook, myspace, soundcloud, you name it, all rolled into one big social ball. Hopefully, you’ll find something you like around here.
